Precautions for solid wood floor installation

  • Detail

Floor nails and nail caps should have cross grooves, which can be screwed with pistol drills. Smash with a hammer and hairpin, and it's easy to hurt the floor. It's very difficult to pry it up again

1. Moisture proof

before installation, be sure to do a good job of moisture-proof treatment on the ground. Depending on the needs of the environment, you can also use moisture-proof cloth for moisture-proof treatment

2. Wooden keel

the selection of wooden keel must be fixed with dried wooden square strips (moisture content less than 16%) and special screws for the keel. The wood has good nail holding force and appropriate softness and hardness. During installation, it is absolutely not allowed to fill the cement hoop or yellow sand. Due to its high moisture, the wood keel and solid wood floor will be deformed and moulded

3. When laying

solid wood floor, the surrounding walls must leave a gap of about 1 cm, so that the rongmu floor will naturally expand and contract with the change of relative humidity in the air. If there is no gap around, it will cause the wood floor to arch and deform. In addition, it is forbidden to use aqueous adhesives such as white glue to stick to the floor, so this kind of glue will cause the wood floor to deform after moisture absorption again. Special nails for fixing solid wood floors are usually used and installed on the wooden keel at a certain angle

4. Other

solid wood floors are wood products, and their color and texture are different, so they cannot be completely consistent. Therefore, in addition to strict color separation packaging when leaving the factory, the color, texture and length of wood floors also need to be properly allocated and fully utilized during installation

at present, the solid wood flooring sold in the market mainly includes teak, oak, Manchurian ash, birch and medium and high-grade imported wood

there are generally two types of solid wood floors. One is a long strip wood floor, which is generally between 45cm and 90cm in length, more than 1.6cm in thickness and more than 6cm in width. It is not directly bonded to the ground, and the bottom must be made of keel or large core board; The other is short and ultra-thin, which is directly bonded to the ground. Its quality requirements are mainly high dryness and low sleeping rate

some details in the laying process of solid wood floors need attention:

first, the size of keel wood brace should not be too thick, otherwise it will affect the space utilization, and the general thickness is 4× 1.5 ~ 2cm

second, do not use cement nails, but use electric hammers to drill holes and then use wooden wedges and screws to screw into the ground for about 2.5cm

III. the keel wood brace will not move left and right after installation. Therefore, there is no need to fix it with cement mortar around, so it will not cause floor arching or tile deformation due to insufficient maintenance time

IV. for household installation, foam pads and 9mm plywood can be used. If they are used, 12cm ~ 18cm plywood should be used, which should be cut into 4 ~ 6 pieces equally, and the well keel and the board surface should be nailed around

due to the different specifications and quality of solid wood flooring sold in the market at present, the most obvious is the difference in length and length. Therefore, it is recommended to choose one with a length of no more than 60cm and a width of no more than 7.5cm when laying solid wood flooring. Although the long one is easy to assemble, the long one is easy to skew, warp and deform, while the short solid wood floor is not easy to warp, and it is well understood in the gap between the boards and the matching

the qualified standard of solid wood floor installation is: the paving is firm, without hollowing, cracking, skewing, warping, glue overflow, stains and other phenomena; The joints between plates should be straight and tight, and the joint width should be about 1mm. The skirting board should be closely connected with the floor, and should be close to the wall without cracks. It should also be noted that the number of solid wood floors should be slightly increased than the actual paved area. Generally, 1 square meter is added to a room of 20 square meters for consumption and standby. In addition, whoever buys the floor will be asked to lay it. In this way, it can be guaranteed for one year. In case of quality problems, it is easier to solve them
